EXPLORE SUBSCRIPTIONSTHE BOKKSU STORY
Living in Japan introduced Bokksu founder Danny Taing to local snacks he enjoyed, yet those discoveries were hard to obtain back in the United States.
Danny brought Japanese snacks back to the United States in 2015 and shared them with people close to him. Because many were local specialties made by family businesses without overseas sales, he saw an opportunity to make discovery easier.
Since 2016, Bokksu has traced its shipping story from boxes Danny prepared in his living room to a company whose offering extends beyond the monthly subscription box.

SEE PAST THEMESWhite Strawberry from Nagano Prefecture is Danny's favorite Japanese snack; his description balances crunch, tartness, and restrained sweetness.
Having tasted over a thousand snacks, Danny still centers the response from food lovers: delivering delight and culture through Bokksu boxes and learning what recipients think.
The continuing Bokksu purpose is to build cultural connection with authentic Asian food.
